Prevention, Advocacy, & Health Economics

The primary prevention of obesity is a crucial goal for Ireland and the international community. Primary prevention invariably relies on the advocacy efforts of researchers, health professionals, policy makers, people living with obesity, parents and the wider community. Tackling the commercial and societal drivers of obesity is challenging and unity is needed to demand environments that support healthy development for all children. Health economics can be harness to support prevention and advocacy efforts. The Obesity Research and Care Group have led or participated in a number of projects related to primary prevention, advocacy and health economics. Please see specific projects below for details.
